JA NEW YORK’S SPRING SHOW TO RETURN IN 2022
New York—JA New York will re-launch its spring show next year, citing a high demand for in-person events and trade shows.
The show will be held March 2022, 2022, at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.
“The demand to reestablish our March event has been resounding and we are committed to servicing our exhibitors and retail partners with an event that will help foster the success of their businesses,” said Mark Lind, the new group show director for JA New York Shows, in a press release.
The last JA New York spring event took place in 2019.
In 2020, it was one of the first jewelry trade shows to be nixed as COVID-19 and accompanying lockdowns gripped the United States.
This year, JA New York returned to the trade show calendar for the first time since the pandemic started, with the summer edition returning in August. The same month, Las Vegas jewelry trade shows also made their comeback.
The return of JA New York Spring in 2022 means the New Designer Gallery, which has been a fixture of the show for 45 years, will also be back.
The gallery has brought now-pro- minent designers to the spotlight, including David Yurman, Paul Morelli, and Alex Sepkus.
As in years past, in 2022 one designer from the gallery will be selected the Mort Abelson New Designer of the Year.
The winner, voted on by a group of retailers and press, will receive, for the first time in the award’s history, a $5,000 cash grant and free booth space in the Design District at a future JA New York show.
The Design District section high- lights up-and-coming designer talents.
